When I was a child I was taught about Jesus Christ. I was raised in a Christian home, and we attended church. And we prayed together as a family, and my mother taught us all about the Savior. But when I first learned of Joseph Smith’s First Vision, and the one thing that he bore witness of was that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ were two separate personages, that brought so much peace and answered a huge question that I had had all through my childhood and early teenage years about the Godhead. And I could never come to terms with the fact that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost were one being, and to know that They were three separate personages and to know that the Savior on His own terms as my older brother did the things that He did, sacrificed His life for me just gave me a different relationship with the Savior because my relationship before had really been with God. And because of that revelation and because of all of the teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, his experiences, the things that the Savior taught him in the Doctrine and Covenants, his testimony of the Savior, his relationship with Jesus Christ, all of those things have strengthened my testimony. I know that the Savior is a real person and that He knows me and I know Him. And I know what kind of a person He is because of a lot of the teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
